History
The history of the Idhammar companies started 1973 when Börje and Christer Idhammar started Idhammar Konsult AB along with four partners. At the time maintenance and availability performance was a completely new field of activity for consultants, so the new company soon dominated the field. Idhammar Konsult AB grew steadily during the first half of the 1980's. The company developed and sold maintenance systems, engaged in consultant services and training.
A number of subsidiaries started in Sweden and abroad. One of these was Idhammar Teknik AB, called Itek, which mostly sold instruments and tools for maintenance oprations.
In the beginning of the 1990's the Idhammar companies were sold, and Itek was taken over in full by Jürgen Steffens 1992. During 1995 the ownership was broadened, and business activity focused entirely on training and consultancy services in the field of availability performance and maintenance. It filled the void that emerged in the market after Idhammar Konsult.
Consulting grew sharply, and training developed quickly too, helped by the creation of a large number of scheduled courses and in-house courses for companies.
In 1999, Itek acquired all shares in the training company Börje Idhammar AB. Acquisition of Produktivitetsspelet AB was made in 2000. In connection with the acquisitions name the of group of companies changed to
Idhammar AB.
In September 2002 the company TPD AB was bought by the Idhammar group. TPD had for a long time worked successfully in the same field as Idhammar, and had many international assignments. The acquisitions lead to a reinforcement that made Idhammar AB the clearly dominant knowledge company in availability performance and maintenance on the market.
